From the President...A Fond Farewell
Dear '74 Friends,
It's been an honor, a privilege and a blast to be your '74 Class President over the past five years!
While I've felt the strong friendship and support of my fellow Class Officers and classmates, I hope our efforts have helped you connect more with each other and with our wonderful alma mater, Wellesley College. Unabashedly I'm a big Wellesley fan, so thank you for helping me give back.
Because of our Wellesley connection, we share so much. With love and pride we share how we've grown and our accomplishments, our joy of family, as well as life's challenges and disappointments. We share our love and grief as close ones pass. We share the successes and frustrations of our jobs, dreams and passions along with our life transitions - whether retirement, moving, travel and the like. We are engaged in each other's lives.
Over the last five years, I've made new friendships and met some very interesting people - classmates who I would enjoy getting to know more. I appreciate those of you who shared your reflections with me and know that I learned much from you. You taking the time to send a short note was so encouraging.
So as I say good-bye, my first thank you is to all the Class members who are engaged with the Class and Wellesley in some way - volunteering, donating, attending events, sharing your life events and even just reading our Class emails. Stay engaged - it makes a difference! Please continue to share - make an entry in our Record Book, post on our '74 Facebook page, submit updates for our Class Notes and come to our mini-reunions and Class Reunions. Your engagement is appreciated!
I especially want to thank all our Class volunteers. Without you and your contributions, we could not have accomplished so much. Specifically, I extend my sincere appreciation and thanks to our Class officers - Erna, Debbie, Dennie, Barbara and Mary Lou. I am proud and grateful for all their hard work promoting connection to the College and among classmates, raising funds and hopefully, bringing you some kind of pleasant experience or memory over the past five years.
Special thanks and recognition go out to our Reunion Chairs Krista and Joan and their Committee, to our Record Book Chairs Nancy and Mary Lou, and to Carla for handling Nominations. Our 45th Reunion could not be as successful as I know it will be without your hard work and that of those who worked with you.
And I thank the new incoming officers for taking the mantel - Donna, Chris, Rhonda, Stephanie, Doreen, Genie and Barbara - you will lead us into our 50th Reunion and you will do a terrific job!
Finally, I look forward to seeing you and reconnecting in person at our 45th Reunion, June 7-9 on Wellesley's campus. Maybe a hug or two will be in order but definitely plan on having fun!
